Walk Southeast

Registration is simple and it’s absolutely FREE to participate! NOTE: this challenge begins on May 1st. Register now and receive your tracker, then begin tracking your mileage starting on MAY 1st!

The MILEAGE TRACKER is posted below in PDF form. If you don't have access to a printer, pick one up at Wrangell Parks & Recreation.

Register now through May 6th.

Track how far you walk, run or hike, May 1st through September 1st on the MILEAGE TRACKER provided. Submit logs by September 2nd in order to be considered for door prize drawings.

If you're unable to print a MILEAGE TRACKER from home, we have copies available for pick-up at the pool office. Pop in, say hi and pick one up by May 1st!

The Alaska Airlines drawing for two round-trip tickets is open to all registered Walk Southeast participants from southeast Alaska. Each participant who walks a minimum of 150 miles will receive one (1) ticket. The drawing will take place on Friday, September 8. Walk Southeast. Fly Alaska!

To qualify for the Alaska Airlines drawing, you must:

Live in Southeast Alaska
Be registered for Walk Southeast
Walk a minimum of 150 miles between May 1 – September 1, 2024
Submit a Mileage Tracker by September 2

Which community will walk the most miles this summer? Juneau, Petersburg, Wrangell and Ketchikan will all be aiming for the 2024 title. Since our communities are vastly different by population, the bragging rights – and a really cool new trophy from Alaska Airlines – will go to the community that has the highest average miles walked per participant.

Join the Walk Southeast 2024 Facebook Group after you register. It’s a great way to stay connected throughout the 4-month challenge and encourage each other along the way. Tell us where you walked, when you reach your next community, or post some photos from your recent hikes. You might even meet new people, find new places to explore, or exchange friendly banter with participants in other communities.
