Wrangell Parks and Recreation Department’s mission is to support active and healthy lifestyles by providing a variety of quality programs, activities, facilities, and parks. We provide programs and activities to the community by way of our municipal parks and facilities. Our municipal green space boosts our local economy, enriches our quality of life and caters to the visitor population that comes to Wrangell.
 
Wrangell’s park infrastructure is aging and in need of revitalization. In 2017, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board and Director developed a creative and collaborative approach to addressing our needs via the “Helping Our Parks” (HOP) project. This ongoing initiative is designed to help offset costs associated with park and trail projects, strengthen relationships with community advocates/partners and inspire a culture of stewardship in our municipal green space. 
 
With HOP, we aim to generate funding and community engagement, supporting various projects and programs within Wrangell's shared spaces.

PLAYGROUND REVITALIZATION INITIATIVE
Wrangell Parks & Recreation is thrilled to announce the launch of our Playground Revitalization Sponsorship Initiative, February 2025!
Our playgrounds are essential spaces for kids to explore, play, and grow - but they need some serious TLC. With your help, we can make much-needed upgrades to create safer, more engaging spaces for our community’s children.
This initiative relies on community support in two key ways:
Sponsorship & Donations: Your contributions will help fund new equipment, safety improvements, and better play experiences. Sponsorship tiers offer recognition opportunities for businesses, organizations, and individuals who step up to support!
Volunteerism: We need hands-on help to bring this project to life! Whether it’s assisting with installation, maintenance, or fundraising efforts, your time and effort make a difference.
