Inflatable (Nessie) Rules
POOL INFLATABLE (NESSIE) RULES
The Pool Inflatable, “Nessie,” is a supervised aquatic feature. Use of Nessie is a privilege and all rules must be followed at all times. Failure to comply may result in removal from the inflatable and/or pool area.
Purpose
Nessie provides a structured, challenge-based aquatic activity. For safety reasons, use is limited to participants who meet all requirements and follow staff direction without exception.
Eligibility Requirements
- Participants must pass a deep-end swim test prior to use.
- Participants must demonstrate strong swimming ability and comfort in deep water.
- Weak swimmers or non-swimmers are not permitted on the inflatable.
- Lifejackets are not permitted on Nessie.
Supervision & Staff Authority
- A lifeguard must be on duty and assigned to supervise the inflatable.
- All participants must follow lifeguard instructions immediately.
- Lifeguards may limit the number of swimmers or stop use at any time for safety reasons.
- Only one participant may move through a designated section at a time, unless otherwise directed.
Conduct & Safe Use
- One direction of travel must be followed as instructed by staff.
- Wait for the lifeguard’s signal before starting.
- No rough play, pushing, shoving, dunking, or intentional tipping.
- No diving from the inflatable.
- Enter the water feet-first unless otherwise directed.
- Clear the landing area immediately after falling or jumping off.
Starting & Landing Areas
- Participants must start only from the designated entry point.
- Climb onto the inflatable only as directed by staff.
- Swim directly to the nearest wall or ladder after exiting.
Attire & Personal Items
- Proper swim attire is required.
- No sharp objects, jewelry, goggles with hard pieces, or accessories that may damage the inflatable.
- No flotation devices unless approved by staff.
Capacity & Time Limits
- Participant numbers may be limited based on safety and visibility.
- Time limits may be enforced during high attendance to allow equitable access.
Removal from Nessie
Participants will be removed from the inflatable for:
- Failure to follow lifeguard instructions
- Unsafe behavior
- Disruptive conduct affecting others, taking the attention of the lifeguards.
Access may be suspended for the remainder of the session if behavior does not improve.
Nessie is an exciting and physically demanding activity. These rules are in place to protect participants and ensure a safe, structured experience for all.
