Reservation and Rental Guidelines
RESERVATION AND RENTAL GUIDELINES
Thank you for reserving or renting one of the Public Recreational Facilities. Some facilities require a rental fee; therefore, reservation forms must be completed at least one week prior to the event.
• Reservations: Community Center and Swimming Pool rentals require a minimum one-week lead time to allow coordination with staff. Facilities are not reserved until a completed reservation form is submitted and approved.
• Dances: A dance permit is required. A minimum of six chaperones (18 years or older) must be present. A signed Police Department permit must be posted during the event.
• Cleaning Deposit: A cleaning deposit (check only) is required for the Community Center and Pool. Deposits may be returned after the event, depending on facility condition.
• Set-Up and Clean-Up: Rental fees are based on total usage time, including setup and breakdown. Please include all required time in your reservation request.
• Facility Care: Rooms must be left in the same condition as found. All cleaning must be completed and decorations removed immediately following the event unless prior arrangements are made.
• Decorations: Staples and nails are not permitted on walls or floors.
• Furniture: Tables and chairs must be returned clean to their designated storage areas. Please request tables and chairs at the time of reservation, as supplies are limited.
• Floors: Mats and runners are available to protect gym floors.
• Trash: All garbage must be removed and placed in the dumpster behind the Community Center (Reid Street).
• Food and Drink:
- Gym use with food or drink requires wet mopping after the event using clean, warm water (change water frequently).
- Pool lobby use with food or drink requires vacuuming and trash removal to the dumpster in front of the Community Center (Church Street).
- Supplies: Cleaning supplies, paper products, and garbage liners are located stage stairway area. A janitor’s sink is available in the boys’ restroom.
RULES AND REGULATIONS:
Rental Requirements
Private rental parties must follow all facility rules. Please ensure guests are informed, especially regarding supervision and swimmer requirements.
• Supervision: One adult per three children is required.
• Children & Non-Swimmers: Children under age 7 and non-swimmers must be accompanied in the water by a responsible person at least 14 years old, remaining within 4 feet at all times.
• Swimming Ability: Swimmers must be at least 48 inches tall or able to swim one width of the pool unassisted. Access to deep water requires passing the facility’s deep-water swim test.
• Staff Authority: All patrons must follow staff instructions. Lifeguards and management may remove individuals or assign time-outs for safety reasons.
• Attire: Proper swimwear is required. Cut-off pants are not permitted. T-shirts may be worn. Street clothes and shoes are not allowed on the pool deck, except in the exercise area.
• Hygiene: All swimmers must shower with soap and water before entering the pool.
• Food & Drink: Food, drink (except water in non-glass containers), and chewing gum are prohibited in locker rooms, on the pool deck, and in the pool.
• Health & Conduct:
- Persons with communicable diseases, open wounds, infections, or discharge are prohibited from pool use.
- Persons under the influence of alcohol or drugs are not permitted.
• Safety Rules:
- No running, roughhousing, spitting, screaming, or foul language.
- No back dives, back flips, or walking on deck with flippers.
- Equipment: Inflatable toys are not allowed. Only Coast Guard-approved flotation devices are permitted.
