Combination Swim Guidelines

COMBINATION SWIM GUIDELINES

Combination Swim is a shared swim time that brings together multiple aquatic activities within the pool at the same time. Depending on the day, this may include Lap Swim, Arthritis Class, Water Aerobics, Tot Swim, and/or Family Swim.

Purpose
Combination Swim is designed to maximize pool access by accommodating a variety of users and programs simultaneously. This swim is active, structured, and shared, requiring cooperation and flexibility from all participants.

Pool Use & Activity Sharing
  • The pool is divided into designated areas to support multiple activities at once.
  • Activities may include:
    • Lap swimming
    • Group fitness classes (arthritis or water aerobics)
    • Tot Swim and/or Family Swim
  • Pool space assignments may change based on attendance and program needs, as directed by aquatics staff.
Lap Swim Expectations
  • Lap swimmers should be prepared to share lanes.
  • Circle swimming may be required, depending on attendance.
  • Lane availability may be limited due to shared programming.
Tot & Family Swim Considerations
  • Tot Swim and Family Swim guidelines apply during Combination Swim times.
  • Parents/guardians are responsible for active supervision of children at all times.
  • Participants are expected to remain in their designated areas to ensure safety and minimize disruption to other activities.

Environment & Activity Level
  • This swim is very active, with multiple programs occurring simultaneously.
  • Participants should expect movement, noise, and shared space.
  • Those seeking a quieter or more focused swim experience may prefer a dedicated lap or open swim time.
Facility Expectations
  • All participants must follow posted pool rules and lifeguard instructions.
  • Proper swim attire is required.
  • Swim diapers are required for children who are not fully potty trained.
Combination Swim offers a dynamic and inclusive aquatic experience while making the most of shared pool space. Aquatics staff are available to help direct patrons, explain space usage, and support safe participation for all users.
