Wrangell Parks & Recreation: Sauna Rules
Welcome to our sauna! To ensure a relaxing, safe, and enjoyable environment for everyone, please follow the rules.
General Conduct
- Sign in at the front desk. Pay daily entry fee.
- Respect Others: Avoid loud conversations or disruptive behavior.
- No Reserved Seating: Seating is first-come, first-served. Share the space and be considerate.
- Capacity: The sauna is rated as a 4-person sauna. That said, it will comfortably fit 3 people.
- Time Limit: Limit sauna use to 15-20 minutes per session to avoid overheating and accommodate other patrons.
- Age Restrictions: Children under 16yrs of age must be accompanied by an adult. No children under the age of 6 are allowed in the sauna due to their inability to regulate body temperature as effectively as adults. Children aged 6-14 can use the sauna with adult supervision, but for a maximum of 10 minutes at a time.
Hygiene & Attire
- Wear Appropriate Attire: Swimsuits or clean gym attire are required. No nudity. No shoes.
- Use a Towel: Sit or lie on a towel to protect the seating and maintain hygiene.
- Shower Before Entering: Users MUST shower before using the sauna.
- No Shoes Allowed: Leave shoes outside the sauna to keep the area clean.
Health & Safety
- Know Your Limits: If you feel dizzy, nauseous, or uncomfortable, exit the sauna immediately.
- Stay Hydrated: Drink water before and after your sauna session to stay hydrated.
- USE AT YOUR OWN RISK: If you have questions about sauna use, consult your doctor.
- No Food or Drinks: No food or beverages permitted. Water only. No glass containers.
- Prohibited Substances: Alcohol and drugs are strictly forbidden in and around the sauna.
Sauna Etiquette
- Keep It Quiet: Speak softly and avoid using electronic devices.
- Scents: Lotions, oils, scents are not permitted.
- No Excessive Water on Rocks: Pour water sparingly to avoid creating excessive steam. WATER ONLY ON ROCKS. Do not use water from the pool.
- Clean Up After Yourself: Take your towels out with you. Place dirty towels in the laundry bins located in the locker rooms.
